BLIND WISHES

By Osprey

I wish I had stayed blind,
Oblivious to your truth,
But used to your ‘truth’,
That which I never saw,
That which I never felt,
Or maybe I actually did,
But was blinded by love.

I just wish I had stayed blind.
Because maybe, just maybe,
Maybe then I’d have peace,
I wouldn’t have to worry,
About that which you did,
Even when next to me,
When you saw and felt,
That which he made you feel,
When you were with me.
I wish I never got my sight back.

I prayed so long for my sight,
Because I wanted to see,
This woman, my woman,
Who had my heart shackled,
Happily shackled,
Who had stood by me,
Who was always around,
When I needed her.

I wished for my eyesight,
And I was granted a wish,
But it was a punishment,
Because I got to see,
I got to feel,
I got to confirm,
I got to shatter,
I got to pieces,
And instead of joy,
My sight stung with sorrow.

Love stories are always long,
But mine is short.
I loved while blind,
Hated while granted sight,
So now the oceans know me,
It’s greatest contributor,
The broken sighted,
Whose daily tears,
Leveled it up.
I wish I stayed blind.
