DOWN THE CRADLE

Peered down the cradle
The feeling surreal
An angel lay, staring
Full of innocence

Giggles and my world is turned around
Frowns become smiles
Anguish becomes joy
The thronging memories of labor bittersweet
Heaven sent

Coos and a rush of happiness flows
Overwhelming all the labours
A spark that gives the strength to keep going
That makes life worth

Before you came
Along, my life had a void
Before you popped up, I was a ruin
In a jiffy, you filled the
Emptiness that was
Slowly consuming the best of me
Shored me up from the chasm of lonesomeness

Right now, am
Out and about
Cuddling you in my arms
Keeping you warm and safe.
