UNSEEN FALL.

We called ourselves her friends,
Even placed a new tag of “family”,
We were her squad, her home,
Yet we watched her carve away,
We watched her dive into her pain,
Every refill of alcohol meant she needed us,
She wanted us to refill her joy,
She needed us to hold her hand,
But, we got consumed by the drinks,
We thought it was her new thing,
We thought it was her time to have fun,
To explore ,to be happy in the Merry,
But we were wrong,
It’s not the fun she wanted,
Nor the alcohol, or the nights out,
It was us,
Her friends, her family, her people, her squad,
We were supposed to see her pain,
Be there when it consumed her,
Hold her when it broke her,
Embrace her when it made her feel unwanted,
Love her when she felt unloved,
Fill the emptiness of her heart,
Not that of her cup,
We failed her as her friends, as her family,as her people,
It was supposed to be friendship through the unseen .
