I AM ME

Being me is the best feeling
To be me I don’t need a calling
I love being me and I’m not bragging
I’m me and I’m not changing

I can’t change just to fit in
In this ship of mine I’m the captain
I know my happiness is from within
My black skin I’m going to maintain
I’ll be me through thick and thin

I know I’m not perfect
I’ll not change I’ll remain distinct
I don’t care how you’ll react
Wrong people I will reject

I’m working on myself
I won’t apologize for being me
I’ll be me not for fame
My words and actions will rhyme

Being me is the greatest accomplishment
Impressing is the last thing I want
In my hard life I’ll be resilient
Everything I have presently I’ll be content

I’ll shut out all destructions
I’ll be calm in hard situations
Every action will be out of considerations
My ego won’t question my position

I won’t be depressed being me
I won’t be oppressed being me
I won’t be stressed being me
I’ll be dressed to be me

I walk having power
God molded me I’m a wonder
I’m the son he’s the father
He’s my maker I’m a winner
