ROCK BOTTOM

I stand peering at the blue skies,
Looking at the wide
Ocean blue at my front, the waves rising and collapsing,
Verily, it is one beautiful marvel just like she was, endearing,
I devoted all of me to living with her, and in that, am proud,
It wasn’t long, but it was so special,

I remember her always leaning by the doorway, smiling
As I got back from a day’s work, her soothing voice
Would give me a spurt of renewed strength in an instant,
The warmth she radiated, the feeling of tranquility,
The delicious meals she worked tirelessly to
Put on the table with love, its
Aromas filling the air, making me sniff
Around like an excited puppy, my whole existence
Evokes memories so beautiful and yet painful,

She was to be the mother of my children, we were to
Live till our bones were feeble and fragile, till ours skins
Were wrinkled and sagging, till our hairs were grey and falling,
Till our vision was cloudy, till we were no more than a distant
Reminisce, a dream that lived and was devoured by time,

You never know you’ve got a blessing till it’s taken,
You never know the happiness you
Enjoy till you’ve hit rock bottom. Am at
Rock bottom and I tell you it isn’t a fun place
To be, it’s gloomy, it’s full of
Regrets, it’s a place of no love.
