Our bodies go through changes every single second. The more we grow, the more we get to view different aspects of life with a different dimension. The more we accept or deny things that we had been so rigid about. In this case, let’s talk about LGBT. Shall we?
Let’s talk about how different sexual orientations and genders have created distinct views, opinions and behaviors in our community. Let’s open up on things that are hidden deep down and never or rarely talked about in the name of they are shameful things to talk about.
Lets talk of the rights, discrimination, struggles and even violence that some of us are going through just because of their sexual orientation.
The silent battles they are fighting and how they end up being depressed and suicidal due to lack of a better option. They somehow want to talk about who they really are but the harsh judgements and hostility makes them think otherwise.
Assume you have a sister or a brother who one day opens up to you that he/she is attracted to the same gender or more so is attracted to both men and women. Would you rush and report him or her so as that state of him/ her would be undermined? Would you beat him/her up? What would you possibly do? Think about it. What if one day you woke up and start viewing your same gender colleagues with a different ‘sweet’ eye? Who would you blame? Would you like to be undermined or understood?
Everyone’s life matters. LGBT lives matter. Let’s not waste too much time and efforts making them explain why they are like that. It’s of no use to ashame them if we don’t comprehend their state.
It’s a high time even governments start advocating for these people’s rights and wish for their well being. It can happen to anyone. Anyone can find him/herself in that category. We just don’t see it coming.
Let’s learn to embrace the reality. We all deserve love, care and respect despite where we are getting it from.
