Every house has it’s own struggles. Every person has their own demons and angels that control how they respond to every circumstance. This is an exclusive story of a man who at one point in life thought he had all he wanted in life. A story of love, mistakes, deceit and above all violence.
Ben.Ben is his name.. Ben was suffering in silence his instability could not be hidden anymore. Not in terms of money but in terms of what he went through every time headed home from work.
He says and many of those who have seen him grow would say that he has never done anyone wrong intentionally. He has always been a kind hearted person throughout his life. He knows how to respect others and treat them as he would like to be treated.
Too good to be true. This saying always ring in my head when I receive too much goodness from anyone, without them asking for something in return… well, apart from my own mama.
A childhood friend who later turned into a best friend, a confidant, a partner and finally a wife; Susan. This was where all problems preceding Ben came from. Despite being a charming guy, very lovable, respectful and hardworking, Ben was a very hard-working and determined guy , traits that made Susan consent into getting married to him. Money flowed like milk and honey. So she would definitely live like a queen.
Beware who you call your own. Susan was never in love, she only took Ben as a friend she had from their childhood life. Her motive was to deprive Ben of everything and claim that as hers. Torture started slowly by slowly. Verbal fights, mistreatments and disrespect.
Ben felt so small. But at some point, he consoled himself saying no marriage or partnership is a smooth sail. We all have our own issues. Don’t we? Then again, he was a man, almost nobody would believe him if he said his wife was mistreating him. Don’t men rise above all?
He was getting drained emotionally. Susan made him his slave. Any thing she wanted or demanded for, it had to be fulfilled at whatever the cost. What a house wife! Legs put on the table, passionate massage given to her by Ben, food put on the table, cooked and prepared only the way she likes. She was living a queen’s life.
Emotional violence was killing Been from inside. And who said there is no domestic violence against men? There are so many male domestic violences in this world that we just don’t know about.
Depression and mental drainage made Ben loose a grip on himself. Two weeks ago, he almost met his maker. He came home from work carrying none of the items that Susan had asked for. Just like a maniac she had been, she took acid and poured over Ben’s face and more scary, she stabbed him three times on the stomach. All because her one wishes wasn’t granted.
Would you rather fight for your life wishing you were dead or speak up? SPEAK UP! Don’t suffer alone. We know men are being showed violence at home. Don’t bury that again because we are all here not just to listen but to help.
Let’s protect our men. Let’s stop domestic violence at whatever cost. Remember, you are never the first, nor alone.
