TOXIC FEMININITY

We are always quick to point out what the sons of Adam are doing wrong, rape, sexual harassment, toxic masculinity, the list is endless. And I am in no way suggesting that this is wrong but if we’re calling out mistakes, then how about we do it for both genders. The fact that men have been advantaged for far too long doesn’t mean that we should consciously ignore horrible female behavior. There are a thousand or so articles on toxic masculinity that even the guy living somewhere deep in the Amazon could define that term and state examples without a single drop of sweat but how many times do you hear people talk about toxic femininity, close to non-existent. And the funny bit is some of these toxic traits are actually applauded as ’empowering’ which is really sad. And don’t get me wrong, I vouch for women empowerment, I do but we can’t keep ignoring this problem and until we actually admit it is a problem, then we are a long way away from liberation. And I know what you are about to say, “we should focus on where the problem is and that is women are oppressed” but I honestly think we need a balanced society and that to me is what feminism is about, equal rights for both men and women.

So like I said toxic femininity is horrible female behavior that we ignore and this includes insulting and abusing men then pulling out your woman card to get out of trouble. If you are going to step on someone else’s toes then at least have the decency to own up to your mistakes, stop with the victim hood mentality. It is pathetic, it is sad, it is horrible. Stop viewing femininity as being weak and vulnerable and thinking that you could get away with anything simply because you are a woman. Personal responsibility is actually a thing so stop playing the victim and be accountable for your shortcomings. And don’t come with the ‘ that’s just me ‘ talk, no one signed up to deal with bullshit. Take appropriate steps to become a better person.
Femininity is focused on freedom, emotion and relationship and more often than not it involves more emotion than logic. I didn’t say that, research did and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, it’s just the way things are but where we do go wrong as women is using emotion as a weapon. Being both psychologically and emotionally abusive to men and thinking men are big and strong, they can handle it. Getting into an argument with your partner and then threatening to take the children away, that my friend, is using the gender card to excuse manipulation. I mean, there are better ways to deal with such situations but we are just being ignorant. There’s so much a person can take until they reach their breaking point and if we cannot tolerate that same behavior in men, why do it for women.
See how we keep saying women are not rehabilitation centers for badly raised men, well, men are not poverty eradication schemes for women who are not willing to work hard. Being female doesn’t excuse you from paying bills or rent or school fees. It is as much the man’s responsibility as it is yours. The year is 2020 and the cost of living is so fucking high so sis, get a job and pay your own damn bills. As a side note, it helps with the respect thing plus it’s just common courtesy. We cannot continue using patriarchy to defend wrongful behavior.
Another thing that women should drop is viciously bullying one another. With all honesty women body shame other women more often than men do. It is hypocritical and so fucking sad. Women should support other women, it’s the least we could do for each other. And stop being jealous and channeling it towards other women. Seriously though, why are you hating on the girl with artistically done make up. If she wants to put on thirty ounces of foundation, then let her, with all due respect it is none of your business.

Well, that’s just my opinion on toxic femininity and I would very much like to hear your view so you can drop a comment?and if you feel that this post offended you, sorry but I’m not an ice cream vendor. I am a feminist and in my opinion that is what feminism is about, equal rights for both genders. Anyway, I’m just a twenty something year old with close to zero experience about life but that’s my two cents.
