END’GAME’

It all began

With the Christmas Eve fun

We played hit and run

And the last one hitting would always have fun

It was my turn

So I had to run

Though I had no plan

I just had to have fun

It happened that my hideout was occupied

James, my friend hid quietly

I saw him hide something

And dared him to show me

He trembled and mumbled

“Shh.” Then removed a cigar

I was taken aback

But could not blow up cover

We moved far away

To give a try

Little did I know

I had began my ‘game’

I was ten

I turned twenty but still ‘playing’

The ‘game’ was fun

Now with nowhere to run

One month ago

I visited the hospital

Due to increased severe headache

On examination I had increased blood pressure

Increased heart rate, decreased skin temperature

Irregular periods and deadliest cancer

Now I’m in the hospital bed

Coughing without ceasing

With increased brain damage

Thinking of how a good mother I would make

But all those are just dreams

Please don’t live like me

For this is painful indeed
