A HEARTBREAK

BY Sheila Mumbo

A heartbreak,
Is gasping for air in a vacuum,
Trying to hold on while drowning,
No one tells you it takes a part of you.

A heartbreak,
Feels like lightning storms deep in your chest,
Without a way of escaping for shelter,
Completely changing your perspective of life.

A heartbreak,
Is when it hurts nowhere specific,
With a constant ache and no painkillers to stop it
Longing for your lover to come back.

A heartbreak,
Is when you fake a smile,
But deep down, you’re hurting.
And your life sucks, and out of love.

A heartbreak.
