BROKEN HEART

By Nairror 254

Whenever I think about it
My heart hurts
My tongue becomes bitter
My eyes moist like lichens
My feelings become uncontrollable
The pain, I can’t relate
The one I loved so deeply
And feelings I thought were reciprocated
Only to realize I was used and disposed
Like litter strewn all over
For her selfish gains
Lost in her affection
My love for you was my undoing
A heart that knew no hate
Broken into a thousand pieces
Leaving my wounds for the worms
Now love is a stranger to me
Anger killing me softly
Tempting me to get even
But a part urges me to stay strong
That someday all shall be well
