Kama si sasa, ni sasa hivi.
Aaaargh. Am I the only one sick and tired of all this rushing? I will not handle how poor time management can give a feeling of being overwhelmed. I choose instead, to complain of the urgency of life.
You might not understand why this matter irks me so, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am sort of a slow person. Well, I can walk fast and immediately check my phone when I wake up but when it comes to matters decisions and tasks, I love taking my time.
I am the kind of person who will request for ‘time to think about it’ before I take up an offer or even give you an answer about ‘where this relationship is going?’ I am also the person who will process before talking to the manager and take my time before buying earrings. So, when I have to make decisions fast and act immediately, I am at a disadvantage.
Hahaha, I am that person who will remember a point that would’ve guaranteed a win during an argument 1 hour after the argument ended!!
So here I am, in this world that requires fast thinking and quick actions which is put loosely, beyond my natural capabilities. Adjustments are done, but there’s only enough times when I will consecutively perform and respond with immediate effect. Anxiety, decisions that are not well thought and undue pressure are some of the effects of this fast paced life.
Some instances require quick action like jobs with limited slots. You know of the unemployment burden in Africa.
Don’t get me wrong, I will not respond to your message 30 minutes later if I can reply right now. But I won’t just say yes, where? When you tell me to come over. I will have to consider for a couple of minutes if I can manage.
Are you bothered by our fast paced life?
