HEARTACHES AND PAIN

So significant were you that I measured time from the moment we met and from the moment I lost you. What lies between the lines sometimes speaks so loudly that the lines themselves become whispers, and in between the spaces are screams. The place in my soul that spills out words is the same place that holds the pain.

You see, there seemed to be two worlds—the one before you and the one after you. Your eyes so blue I drowned in them because deep inside, I saw forever in them. You were not just a drop in the ocean but an entire ocean in a drop because I fell for you like raindrops. What we had seemed so perfect but ended so soon.

In the abandoned corridors of my heart, your footsteps still echo late at night. We were both trying to walk away and hold on at the same time; I guess that’s what we call the mind and heart at war.

Every word, moment, sigh, and smile. Left a mark.

So much more was said in the unsaid.

As my heart was beating for you on the left side, all I wanted to do was treat you right. All I just wanted was for you to use me as a favorite paragraph on every page or at least be a dried rose that will forever have a scent in your life. After all, aren’t we all striving to be noticed by someone in between the lines and maybe be the punctuation of our sentences?

It’s been exactly 567days since we parted ways. I once wrote a suicide note, yet here I am again, typing. To get rid of my pain or to actually rid my mind of the so many thoughts it has to bear. To be honest, I don’t know which is worse, to have your heart broken or to break another heart.

Sometimes I write because that’s the only thing that makes me feel much closer to you, back to the stars perhaps I’ll find you there. In all of the time, I wonder how many lives I will have to live until I find my way back to you. But why is it when a story ends, that’s when we begin to feel all of it?
