Self Love

I fell in love in a moment
That’s when l learnt to appreciate myself
It was at that time that l knew the definition of self love
It is not what people say
So l chose to define it my way

Love is the feeling of the morning sun on my delicate skin
The contentment that fills my body when l get myself a gift
The satisfaction that comes with eating my favorite chocolate
That fulfillment l get from seeing the woman l have become
Love is the peace that comes with inner healing

I call that selflove
That uncomfortable feeling during transformation
Yet you chose to sit through all those emotions
The goal is to love myself in all forms
I became great friends with my inner child
And just watched her bloom

That is how l found love
I no longer held on to the broken pieces
I just had to find the one piece that broke me and journey to my full self
Here is to the love of my life,Me
I am proud of the person you are
How you hold on to yourself in darkness
The way you extend grace to yourself
I am glad that you know your worth
