Who to Blame??

Who to blame?
Who to blame?
I, the bearer of blame,
At your service,
Ready to shoulder the weight of wrongs,
To apologize for sins not mine—
For I should have known better.

Known better than my sibling’s folly,
Known better than that glass to shatter.
Should’ve foreseen their missteps,
Stopped the chaos before it began.
I should have been the guide,
The rock, the beacon, the flawless mirror.

For I am the first daughter—
The one who must not falter.
Their wrongs are mine to claim,
Their failures, etched upon my name.
If only I had done better,
Surely, they would have done better.

So, I’ve learned to say sorry,
Not for acts, but for existence.
I clean the messes I did not make,
Carry burdens with silent resistance.
No fight, no voice, no plea—
This is the role they’ve carved for me.

Do better.
Be better.
But never enough.

I’m sorry the glass shattered,
I should have stilled the wind.
I’m sorry my best falls short,
I promise—next time, I’ll win.
I’m sorry for the stress I bring,
For breathing, for being—
For everything.

I am sorry my existence
Is a map of your grievances.
I’ll try harder,
Be stronger,
Stay quieter.
Do better.

But still—
Who to blame?
Always me.
