I do not have the strength,
To wrestle for space;
In anyone’s heart, anyone’s mind,
If you want to leave then so be it.
I am not ashamed of knowing,
The varied motions of leaving;
The suffocating goodness,
The restless eyes,
Goodbyes are not new to me,
I know them intimately.
My heart is all too familiar,
With the weight of departure.
That is why I am not moved,
By your threat to leave,
I will survive it,
I have before.
I will not ask you to stay,
You will have to choose;
For your own sake,
Either way, I will be okay.
