The morning is chilly and I wish to stay in bed,
But somehow I’m excited to get up for work.
The birds are singing their hearts out, beautiful,
The sun is peeking in the horizon, a new dawn,
The moon is faintly watching from a distance,
The clouds are asleep, roads are filled with dew,
The children are off to school, some hate school,
That is how I’m convinced today is a happy day.
My heart rate is high, for what, I’m not sure,
My smile seems to be brighter for a morning,
Anxiety creeps in and I try to shake it off,
My day has to be good, even if I don’t know how.
I decide to get ready before I meet the boss’s wrath,
Singing my lungs out, I know you’d love my voice,
The woman of my life, the empress of my heart.
Checking my phone, I realize it’s our anniversary.
Our anniversary, the day you said yes to me,
A day like today, twenty four months ago,
After I had struggled to find the courage,
The courage to finally tell you how I felt.
Took a lot of energy I must admit, my love.
To have a perfection like you look my way.
So I’ll write you what my heart screams daily,
Because I don’t trust my brain when next to you.
This is for you, my beautiful lucky charm,
We became, because you came into my life,
Though I think I fell face first into yours,
And I consider myself the blessed of all.

Quick to forgive, even when its undeserved,

You’d probably raise an eyebrow at this, but,
I like the way you get jealous and protective,
When all your claws are out and scary, cute,
When you pout angrily and try scowling,
You’re easily the most beautiful person ever,
The perfection in my imperfect human life,
Another reason for me to thank the Master.
Your happiness when you want photos of us,
To capture moments for beautiful memories,
Always has me looking forward to the next visit.
The way you take care of me, worry for me,
How you get restless if I don’t pick your calls,
I can swear I’m the luckiest man, I belong to you.
I know you need no reminder of this but love,
