Brutal Betrayal

I remember the first day we met,
The day I made your heart tickle,
Yet I was walking on my own path.
I was just a girl in a red dress,
Glowing under the morning sun,
As beautiful as a flower,
And as elegant as an angel,
Or so you said,
Yet deep down I had a bleeding heart.

I remember the first time you said hi,
You were just a tall dark man,
But I never knew you’d capture my heart.
You shook my hand firmly yet gently,
And I whispered that I had no time for you,
Yet my bleeding heart fell for you.
You smiled my sorrows away,
But I pushed you away,
Or so I thought.

I remember the first time we dined under the skies,
It was just a late night dinner,
We served our tales on our plates,
And wrote our memories in the palms of our hands.
You wiped off my innocence with your smile,
And I taught you the new meaning of love.
You held my hands tightly,
And my heart even tighter,
Or so I believed.

I remember the first time
We painted our names on the sky,
As though the world belonged to us,
And I inscribed your name in my bleeding heart,
But you took a knife and scraped it off.
You swept my hope with your tears
You crushed my heart with your words,
And pierced my soul with your deeds.
I watched you call her beautiful,
Created new tales under the skies,
Yet my heart buried this brutal betrayal,
So I soaked in the silence.
