Didn’t smell my end,
Till I took the bend,
Thought it was time to blend,
And take a chance to mend,
Or make a slight amend,
But I sort a different say,
Seemed to be the way,
The way out of an astray,
Thought it was the light,
Shinned far at sight,
The glow,too bright,
Felt like a had comfort by the night,
Or another hand of might,
It all felt right…right,
Didn’t notice I was falling,
And my strength was dimming,
My voice too low for calling,
Was drifting,
Was sinking,
Drove to an addiction,
Took away everything that felt like addition,
Stuck in confusion,
Driven to confession,
I was broken beyond completion,
Drowned to consumption,
My addiction, now my thirst,
Turned to my trust,
Now am stuck,
And the reality feels like a struck,
My life’s now an unfixable crack,
And my story changes to dark,
Am drowning,
And my voice’s dimming….
