In ancient Greek, it was believed that if the flowers placed on a grave took root and blossomed, then souls were sending a message that they had found happiness in the next world. This scene from a movie got me thinking, here is how it goes;” Do you believe in after life?” Morgan asked. “No, I believe it is exactly how it was before we were born, nothing,” Clare replied. It’s still a mystery to man, what happens when you go into the white blinding light. And we hold onto anything that gives a meaning to life, that gives an explanation to everything that happens around us, to death. Some believe in nature and good energy, others in a supreme being, others in what’s happening now but one thing puts us on a level ground, death. It’s inevitable, and it’s the people that get left behind that are wrecked and broken. It’s a hungry monster, keeps taking.
It’s a ticking bomb and every single minute gone is a minute closer to our grave, yet we spend time thinking about it that we forget to live, we forget that life is not the plans we make, life is happening now. We live in the fear of death that we forget how amazing the sunset is. You might die today but you might also live for another fifty years, and it’s not being optimistic, life is a possibility.
So stop living in the fear of unknown, gladly embrace whatever tides life throws at you. It won’t be all roses but everyday above the ground is a gift so don’t waste. Don’t save that dress, don’t spend your final hour making tapes for the ones you love because you didn’t tell them how much you loved them when you had the time. So, if you love someone tell them, and shout out loud. Step out and feel the sun on your skin, chase the butterflies, simply live.
