IS IT REALLY MY FAULT??

I’m a girl too, I know how it feels,
When you don’t have a say in anything,
When your choice is taken from you,
Just because they see you as inferior,
I know how it feels to be broken,
When you can’t even fix yourself,
When you have to thrive on hope,
Even when it’s impossible and won’t help,
I know how it feels to fight battles alone,
When you can’t tell anyone what happened,
Because everyones busy judging you,
When everyone looks at you like its your fault,
I know,and it’s not just because I’m a girl.

I’m a boy too, and I know how it feels,
When you don’t have a choice in anything,
When everyone looks at you differently,
When you’re always going to be on the wrong,
When you’re supposed to be stronger,
When you’re supposed to fight back,
When you’re not expected to be weak,
When vulnerability is a curse,
When nobody cares coz I should’ve stopped it,
I know how it feels when you’re forced,
When you can’t tell anyone what happened,
Because everyones busy judging you,
When everyone looks at you like its your fault,
I know,and it’s not just because I’m a boy.

You’re judging us because it wasn’t you,
Because it wasn’t your daughter or son,
Because the defiled wasn’t related to you,
You blame us for things we have no choice in,
You know we never had a choice,
It was rape. They raped him. They raped her.
But no one wants to listen,
No one wants to understand,
That consent wasn’t given, and nothing was provocative,
But you won’t understand,
Because it wasn’t you, or you child or your friend.

You choose to ignore because its easier,
Because no one will blame you if you ignore,
Instead it will be a be a battle of the genders,
Feminists versus masculinists,
A competition of who’s louder than the other,
Who will win between the two genders,
You fail to realize we’re hurting too,
We’re breaking slowly by the day,
You’re turning the world into a warzone,
But then again, how will you know,
How will you understand that a no means no,
When you’re too busy being loudmouths,
When you invest in chauvinism,
You won’t understand,
Because you ain’t ready for that conversation,
And we all pay the price.
