Tell me what’s worse
The pains of holding on
To a love long lost
Or the pains of letting go
Of a love long dead?

I choose to clear my mind
To forgive me for long hard
To accept the peace that he’s gone
To choose to honor my worth
To preserve my dignity
To set him free
And to hope for a reciprocated love

And yes,
The pains will cut deep
Or tear away part of me
And perhaps leave open ugly scars
But I will embrace it all
The scars of love
Evidence that my love way true
That the moment was worth it
That feeling was invested
