MY TORMENTED LOVE

By Sheila Mumbo

You carry torments heavy as the ocean,
I wonder why she hasn’t swallowed you yet,
But then I’m here holding your hand,
Willing to sail with you through this storm,

But what’s the point, if you can’t trust me
You let go of my hand because of your ego,
You feel you can do it all by yourself,
But I still held your head above the water

You hide even when I’m naked beside you,
Begging you to do the same, open up,
Wishing you’d at least release a little load from your chest
But you push me overboard,

I’m tired of trying to save you from yourself,
When you can’t save you from yourself,
I hope you’ll find peace wherever you anchor,
Perhaps let go of all the torments.
