JUST A FRIEND

By Josephat Msagha

An angel that set me free

Saw my demons and still believed

That there was good in me

I vowed to love you endlessly

Blessed with them perfect eyes

I trusted your perfect lies

Cutting off all my friends for you

Like a dummy you made me feel

Did you consider my feelings before you lied?

Just a friend, those words still ring in my mind

Made me doubt my intuition

Making me think that I made her feel so insecure that

I didn’t trust her around men

They say trust your gut feeling it’ll never disappoint

Just a friend you said

He sent me a clip of you two

Watching it felt like a bullet hit my heart

Altering my blood flow

Causing a mitral valve prolapse

Regurgitating blood flow like the moonwalk dance into the atrium

Just a friend in bed with you

Told me she was at a work seminar

Indeed she was working

Baby I’m sorry, are you joking?

What are you sorry for?

Here you are playing blame games

You blame the devil for this saga

Just heard you yell OMG

That should have scared him away

You weren’t cursing the devil

But it made him enjoy you more

Hope you have fun with your just a friend

I`m in our bed

And you’re not here

Thinking I should hit the bar

And get a tequila shot

To ease down my blues

Sick, feels like I have a flu

Still need an adhesive glue

To repatch the sliced and broken pieces back
