They say it’s calm before the storm.That is what it is.Graduating from high school and feeling like we have accomplished one of the many hectic things in life and there is only one more to achieve.One more to experience.That daring life.Campus life.
In all honesty,being at the university is like sitting at the top of the food chain and you are able to look at the world from a different view and all you can think about is food,relationship,parties,sleep,missing three quarter of the classes awaiting for the examinations and you would still pass,caring about the smallest things in life and that is campus life.
Campus life is all about taking your own choices and making your own rules,it will take you from adventure to adventure,its like digging your bare feet into the sand and stretching your toes to feel the warmth of it,enjoying every moment of it and you would think your life is getting better.Goodbye parents and you will say hello to freedom but before you start rejoicing and celebrating,prepare yourself to encounter the issues like sharing a small room with other people,having no privacy,having to deal with their bedtime noise levels,trying to balance school athletics and the social life

What is campus life?
Many would say,it’s that general aspect of being a student.To me,that meaning sounds tasteless because campus life has got more of this,more beyond a student just attending to the classes.Campus is indeed a cruel place of black and white.It will make you cry or smile.Its about learning new culture away from home,away from your parents’ watching gaze.Its a struggle with newfound freedom.
Facts about campus life;
Inside the gates,people are like stained-glass windows,they sparkle and shine when the sun is out,you can’t tell whether an individual is from that poor background or from the wealthy families.You would always wonder where on earth these two creatures would come together.The big,curvy,soft bellies,the flat tummies,you will be confused.
How do we date in campus?
Ninety nine percent of the students want to hook up but not to date,they look for sex partners to release stress and tension,they is nothing like true love in Campus.College is full of beautiful ladies who would give you warm free hugs,the handsome men will kiss you and that doesn’t mean they like you.It is easy to fall into the pattern because its the campus tradition.Spending most of your time with your crush and your closest friends will hate you for it.

The first time I met him it was so magical.Max was my roommate’s boyfriend.I thought he was the one for me and I could help but think of him at all times.I felt so much comfortable around him.He was my type,the beautiful dark hair and the flowey hair.This is wrong because he is my roommate’s boyfriend and I should not think of him anymore
“I’m not happy with Linda,I’m willing to break up with her to know you better”he would always remind me whenever we met around the the corners
He was so sweet and I knew I wanted him too.It was so good to be true but I didn’t want to hurt Linda.This is never going to end well.
It was a good choice on my part not to got into a relationship with Max and I had to concentrate on my handsome RA.
If there is that one thing that most students are anxious about is meeting their new roommate.What will he or she be like?will we get along?
Not everyone will get along with their roommates.You would always find that roommate who shower once in a month and you will do nothing about it,that girl who parties the whole night,that one guy who would bring one girl after another and have that good time right in front of you,that would make you uncomfortable right?It may take you longer to know each other.Its always a good idea to sit down and have one on one talk and set the ground rules.It it doesn’t work,go old school.
The most important this to keep in mind is scheduling your time.Keep it in mind that you are not going to making it to every party,night out and the club meetings.And the hardest part here is balancing sleep with social life and the classes.Lol!
There are plenty of nights to hang out with friends but it would be so hard to bring a failing grade.Its all about having enough time to study.
Look at the common hostel hoes.We all know about them.We all see them walk around the hostel corridors in their little towels from the communal bathrooms not caring about those who didn’t adhere to the ten to ten rule.We are not always surprised when they carry this habit to the classrooms.Its a tradition,A comrade is always right.A T-shirt dress would always look great paired with little jackets,they would always think they look like the celebrities,they would walk confidently along the highways trying to get the attention of the boys but some would dress according to the weather and attitude.For sure beauty is pain,the pain of wearing the heels,getting your eyebrows waxed,spending hours straightening your hair while at the risk of getting burned,wearing the short dresses in the name of “freeze and shine.Campus beauty.On the other side the boys would always look hot af in their oversized clothes
Like most of the freshmen would think going into that life is all about gorging on pizza,fried chicken,roasted meat,gaining weight and so on.But the truth is on that “special dietary”.People survive on one meal a day and its a normal thing,”chapatti kata” and if there is one meal to be celebrated is sukuma wiki ugali alongside avocado except for the cool guys always called the cool kids who will always go for the fried foods,sodas,the home style meal option.
Now,more than ever,in campus,we don’t forget about falling out of shape.Exercise is very important.Some would decide to go to the gym while some would walk to class instead of taking a bus.The point is to burn the calories you are consuming.
Campus is where you will find endless opportunities and still find it hard to take a step forward in trying something new.We all want to enjoy life saying that we are living for today!!!
All in all,campus life is like a storm that prepares you to the real world
