THE DANCE

We took the stage early, played the game sourly
A fretted brace you lend, my reedy waist you bend.
Merry, we dive in strong, like a cherry on a chocolate swirl
It’s a lonely dance of two, deep within we hide our hearts
But the music is changing, and I can see the tumultuous waves of your weary heart
The dark rhythm hanging heavily on your lost soul, your demons set free from the fall
The tune now begging for a dark kiss, your heart now a deep hole of vast yearning.
Almost like you have to remember, your breaths are paced, like the air inside you burns with sulphur.
Consumed slowly in between the jingles, falling fast upon the higher notes, indeed a higher love.
I feel them coming out, reaching for yours deep in that melancholic heart, slowly seeping into one
I can feel the war that rages through them at first, like a small explosion kindled by strange emotions, scary… yet so warmly inviting.
Slowly sinking into that meadow of unfleeting high, racing through the thin lines of creamy high, a drowning swamp of ecstasy.
I find myself caving, my past cringing into nothing, a full bloom I come around.
Say, I feel so far gone…so long fallen I couldn’t take a step back, yet its not scary as before.
Mellow we lay tonight, sunken into the joys of the blessed few, held but even more within ourselves.
It was more than love could ever comprehend to be.
