In my society they call me a shame,
Just because I am lame,
They say the evil spirits are to blame,
My disability is a disgrace,
I am like an owl,
Out by night, in by day,
A vessel hidden from the light,
They say darkness for darkness,
An outcast to my people,
A lack identity I remain,
Loneliness then remains my domain,
Alone in my own world,
All hear are my own words,
Disability snatched not my ability,
But my opportunity to be loved,
My opportunity to be a person,
I am a burden,
They call a responsibility,
I am a tag of imperfection,
That’s why they give no affection,
My condition qualifies me for isolation,
A world of no friendship,
I am my own friend,
My own shoulder,
All I have is me
