A WALK IN THE FROST

Frostbitten to the bone,
Battered with cold,
Wading through thick snow
at knee’s depth,

The next breathe a labour,
Each step seemingly the last,
One thing in mind,
To get warm,

Teeth chattering,
Fists clenched,
The ears numb,

Stuck In the middle of wilderness,
With no house in sight
For hundreds of miles in all directions,
I stop in an instant,
Shove my hand in the fur coat,
and search for my phone
to check service,

I rub my eyes, praying the ‘No
Service’ would miraculously shift to
A bar of service, the very least was
all I yearned,

I walk miles till I can’t feel
my legs in the snow,
I keep pushing my self forth,
My life depended on every single
Step I took,

Just like everyday
of our lives, we are
caught up in peril
Situations, with circumstances
So bad that giving up
looks like the easiest way out,
Except, giving up has
never been and should never be
an option,
The universe needs you to be
Strong, to keep your head up high
and march into what life throws at you
head on. Triumph is for those who take
the bull by its horn.
