BUT WHY (NATASHA?)? PART 05

So while going to the market
Carrying her basket
With little money in her pocket
Natasha met a pickpocket
He wore a black jacket
He was a rocket

He wasn’t after the money
His name was Kevin Coney
He was also an attorney
He wanted someone to call honey
Someone together they’ll journey
Someone for love he can give his kidney

They loved each other and married
In this marriage Natasha never cried
Her problems were long buried
Her scars had not yet dried
Memories are what she carried
The society left her worried

She remembered growing up
Stories told when her mum gave birth to her
How his dad was not happy
After receiving news it’s a girl
Then and even now
The girlchild is weaker
She was shown less care

Men were this gender,
Fit for public life
Leadership positions
Activities in business
Politics and academia
While women were relegated to;
The domestic sphere
More nurturing and more emotional
As well as the physically weaker gender
But Kevin also had a story to tell
Of how he did yell
Watch out for part SIX
