Poem by Stinky.
To look back is like standing up a hill,
And squinting to the rolling valley below.
Where once your hair swayed in lovely bangs,
A mop of Grey short, stylish, and dormant.
But the allure stays like it did ages ago
How long ago but this love, steadfast,
Calm, calculated and understanding.
All the memories now fade with time,
Each day we lose some and gain a little.
The melody is long gone from your sultry voice,
There is a frail friendliness in it now.
How overtime you have become me and I you,
Where once shyness brooded, timely anticipation.
We have claimed and traded habits back and forth.
Your cheesy smile, for my thoughtful frown.
My deep throated guffaw, for your delicate stride.
We share a secret so closely kept yet open,
The timid acknowledgment of loving and not losing.
Your steps are faltering now each day,
My knees are wobbly and my joint shaky.
But our love is warm, giddy and like the sunset – TIMELESS.
