By Pretty
I am fine, because that’s what I want to feel
I am strong, that’s what they want me to be
I am a man, guess that’s how they call me.
Not because I am not a man, but because am a man
Who should always smile and laugh and say it’s okay
Who should carry all the weight and burden of my strength
Even when I know I can’t handle it
Because I am the shoulder they’re supposed to lean on
Because I am a man.
What if I tell you I need a shoulder too,
Because all the weight is pulling me down?
What if I tell you there is more tears in the inside,
Than the smile you see outside?
What if I tell you it’s draining me,
Because it’s all too much for me?
It pains me too
It hurts me too
It drains me too
Not because am not a man,
But because am not the man you want me to be,
I feel it too.
All am asking, “Support me.”
