Heart so heavy
Haunted by the memories of the past
Made a mother through rape
At a young and tender age
Handling the burden of not one but two
Can’t handle the stigma from the society
But somehow she has to smile
She knows her kids are not to blame
They are just innocent children who found themselves in challenging circumstances,
At sunrise she has to go to the market,
To get her children’s daily bread as her mates walk to school,
Her future seems destroyed but she has hope her two kids will uplift her,
She says in her heart tomorrow will be brighter,
Giving up in life is not an option for her,
She has two people who matter the most to her,
The last thing she wants is to break their hearts,
She is their pillar of strength,
Their source of joy,
An assurance that they will have a path different from hers,
After all she is a mother,
And she takes up the role seriously
