By Clueless Poet
She is an African woman
The bride of Africa
She toils from dawn to dusk
So as to place something on the table
Deep into the forest to fetch firewood
Down the stream for fresh water
Up the village she walks with fresh vegetables from the market
On her back is baby Tiodoro
She is my sunshine
She makes my day brighter
Beside her am at peace
Each day she reminds me to work hard
To achieve my dreams
Is all that she wants
For mama I’ll work hard
She deserves a better life
Through pain and sorrow
She took care of us
From merciless beating from papa
She never lost hope of taking care of us
She is my world
My African hero
My mama
For her I’ll work
