A WORLD IN FLAMES

S ee,  listen,  for when one’s world is in flames,
A ll should be scampering for the whole of it is,
V erily the flames that guts the neighbor’s abode
E nds up on yours when ignored

P eace is a universal right,  say God given,
A nd therefore shouldn’t  be alienated from one,
L ife of a human is akin to burning wood
E nds in cinders and ash,  but for moment,  bright
S ee,  listen,  for when one’s world is in flames
T he whole of it is,
I t is the brink of collapse of what’s worth,
N ow is the moment to stand for truth,
E nd the chaos,  the pointless bloodshed

I look and I see the streets stained with blood,  Bodies rotting trapped under heavy debris,
I listen and I hear wails,  from mothers,  fathers,  sisters,  brothers,  children,
This isn’t the world I want,
Life is sacred and ought to be treated as such,

Our humanity demands of us to be better
We must do better
For we are in this together
All races,  all tribes, all faiths
There isn’t another earth,
This is Us,
