WHERE MY HEART CAVES

WHERE MY HEART CAVES

My mum says it is a store that will deliver me from slavery
I plug myself fully to books
My teachers say readers are leaders
My friends say readers are liberators
My dad says readers are fully enriched and equipped
I found peace in this cave of knowledge

I have dreams of dining on the same table with philosophers
Perhaps the library is the only place I’ll meet my horizon
My culture has been termed lame
‘No Education for the poor’ they say
I have a dream, A dream to salvage my people from slavery of poverty
I have no other place to call home other than,
This cave of knowledge

Without a shadow of doubt I’ll rise ,
I’ll rise from the web of illiteracy
In books I’ll dig deep and with no dubiety I’ll lead
Comfort is not comfortable outside a library
Endless peace reigns in knowledge
I’ll read till I can read no more
I’ll burn the pages till they can burn no more because,
I found peace in this cave of knowledge

It is evident that others will only teach me what I want to know but the library will teach me what I need to know
In it I’ll not only harvest knowledge but also new ideas and thoughts
And today ,I’m proud to be a voice of reason
That cave helped me conquer all
No better home to shield my thoughts like a library
This is where my heart caves.
