Her Silence

Here I am
Like a lost sheep
Gone are the days when I had this vibrance
That came with knowing she was mine
We used to be like magnets
Simply inseparable.

Look at us now
No talk,no nothing
I wish she would have told me why
Why she had to leave so soon
I’ve sent a dozen letters
No replies.

I’ve even tried singing her our favorite song
The very one we composed as our bodies became one
It’s like she doesn’t feel the beat anymore
The portrait I had drawn of her
Now lies at her doorstep
Simply because there’s no one to pick it.

I’ve called mum to ask about you
All I’m met with are harsh insults
What was my mistake?
I got myriads of questions
Where did you go to?

Thought you’d stay at home
This was home
I wish you’d feed me with love
Instead of all this cold silence
It pierces deeper than a double-edged sword.
