Tale As Old As Time

Something old something new
Something borrowed something blue
In our future I thought it’d be me and you
But now I question if any of that is true

I never dreamt of wedding bells
Commitment was never my cup of tea
But after i met you I couldn’t help but wonder
What sort of wife to you id be

Id iron your shirts Straighten your tie
Sing you to sleep watch as you rise
Listen to whatever you had to say
Ignore all the signs that spelled our demise

The smoke alarms you see
Aren’t only for show
And once they go off
I ought to know

That destruction was coming
And I was the rubble left in its wake
Cause when push came to shove
It was only my heart at stake.
