The Darling Of Nine Hearts

I met a girl,
She broke me,
End of story.
That’s how it should’ve been,
How I should’ve told it,
The tale of the beautiful woman,
The darling of nine hearts.

She was the beautiful woman,
Who got my heart squashed and lost,
But I needed to let it all out,
I needed to tell them,
Who were defending her,
About she,
Who was once mine.

Tina was love and happiness,
My adorable blessing,
Only that I was slow to see,
How cursed I was,
The moment I fell in love with her,
On that highway;
Not really the best of places,
To fall in love,
But I already learned that.

She wasn’t the type,
To play around with my feelings,
So, I invested in her,
And I shouldn’t have.
I should’ve run instead,
At the first sign and red flag,
But my heart wanted her.

I had heard and ignored the rumors,
About the love of my life out there,
Warming every man’s desires,
About my beautiful Tina,
Gambling her life away,
About my sweet love,
Risking it all,
For people who weren’t worth it.

I shouldn’t have pretended,
Coz she would always show up for me,
Only that I had failed to realize,
That I was also among them,
Those who never meant shit to her,
I was never important in the first place.

She took me through a rough patch,
In the school of life,
A lesson learned too hard;
I followed her home,
And maybe that was also a mistake,
Coz when I told them about her,
I realized something then,
They already knew.
