Innocent

They say life in the inside,
Kills life in the inside,
These prison walls cave me in,
I only crave for freedom,
All I do is breathe,
A moment at a time,
Waiting for day of freedom.

They said I touched her,
They said I hurt her,
All their eyes shout guilty,
Day by day,
My mind tricks me to guilt,
Maybe I did,
But the core of my heart speaks innocence,

If my life was a play,
Then I’d say I got staged,
If all this is a game,
I got played,
They say things fall in the perfect timing,
Their timing was perfect,
I am like a rat that fell right into the trap.

My truth only feels true to my lips,
My words don’t seem to get to their ears,
I am a judged man,
How true can the words of a man in chains be,
Who would listen to a man they call monster?

My motivation is to prove my innocence,
But as days go by,
The hope of freedom fades,
The hope for the outside life dims,
I am sentenced,
To a life I find no sentence to describe.

If only they could hear me out,
Maybe I would be out,
But now I sit behind these walls,
Trapped and trapped with the truth in me.
Innocent but guilty.

They say, “the wages of sin is death”
But what is wage of an innocent man?
If only my words would be heard,
If only they chose to listen,
If only.
