The Fault Line

Looking at the world,
She felt that it was too sympathetic.
It kept pitying her
She did not like it, though.
She only longed for its ruthless side.
To watch as it pierced through the last flicker of light.
Isn’t it laughable?
Clinging onto something that’s always evading you?
How could she ever find love when it was all a lie,
In the first place?

The only wish she had was for the world to be cruder;
To shatter her into more beautiful broken pieces,
That she could stitch them back,
With the piercing edges of sorrow,
And finally, be fine with the darkness and gloom.
She wished for life to evade her,
And for the calm stillness of doom,
To invade her every inch.

What more could she be waiting for?
Their once happy family,
Had turned into a fence of silent tears,
A cracked porcelain bowl that used to be,
And as she watched on,
Heart aching,
Torn between two shores,
She could do nothing;
She was just as helpless.
