The hands that cradled me,
Now push me away,
The promises they made,
Turned into wisps of smoke,
The warmth in their eyes,
Now replaced by loath.
My heart that was set alight,
Now plummeted into dark oblivion,
The walls that were built with trust and love,
So firm and high,
Crumbled to the ground without warning.
The hands that were always outstretched to hold me,
Their comfort vanished into thin air,
The door to their hearts slammed shut in my face,
Only to be left with a chilling silence.
The safety I felt,
Whisked in the storm,
A fractured soul,
Forever torn and dispirited.
