False Hope

Ceaseless disappointments,
Lies and hogwash,
Sugar-coated vows,
Once seen as eligible;
Long pushed us into an endless abyss.

Torn between despair and despondency,
On the visible yet undoable transformations,
In store for us,
Made the pining unbearable yet relentless,
But it’s for our own good.

In the end,
We waited,
Till our hopes got dampened.
No changes implemented,
In tatters we wallowed,
Poverty-stricken,
And irredeemably desperate.
