GRANDMA

I saw my nanny the other day
My dreamlike vision clear as the light of day
And she stood there upon those white mountains
Her figure levitating in such an ethereal manner
I could feel the warmth from her soul
And for a moment I wanted to reach out and sink into her
But she couldn’t see me there
And she went on jumping around like a little girl
Filling her basket with those dark blue carnations
Giggling innocently as the fairies flew around her
Whispering naughtily of her dreamless nights
And the never wishes of her new life
So I cried my heart out like a child
Breaking slowly into the damp earth
Until I felt her arms around me
Her voice cooing down on me so angelically
And she whispered to me of a song
One that had me bursting from within
And she blew me into the wind
Until I awoke from my daydream.
