As they say, no matter how much we have, we still go searching for more and more. Hunger of getting a ‘rank ‘ or better said a position we are already in has hovered our minds we are no longer at peace. We no longer feel content with what we already have and once we get what we are yearning for, we become thirsty for more.
She had everything she ever wanted. But nothing made her feel satisfied despite living a life that most of the people around her wished they could. I remember back then , passing by a group of gossipers and I heard them say that God cannot give you everything. He cannot give you all that you ask for. I was young then; and these words made no sense to me until now.
She had a good life. Such a good life that every time she’d complain a little about anything, people would giggle behind her back and wonder how she wants everything as if she is the only one in this world. But noone ever got to know why she had her little complains. Even when asked by people why she is complaining, she’d shrug them off and give them a cold shoulder looking down on them like the couldn’t help or even understand her. She pushed everyone away and that’s why her efforts to quit having issues never seemed to yield.
A very luxurious mansion, a very good and honored job , a very loving husband, unapologetically rich, such was the life she was living. The good life.
Every morning, she would sit thoughtfully on her King sized bed and say a little prayer which not even her husband got to know why she had become so prayerful. He was not such a believer and that’s why at times he’d get furious with her and ask her, “What is this you keep praying for yet I give you all you ask me and beyond?” No good answer ever came out of this ‘beauty’ as she would walk away, take her daily morning routine and then go to work waiting for another day , hoping things would be different .
Years passed and all she would do is hope more and pray more. But still, everything seemed to be so amiss. She had reached at the verge of giving up. She felt useless, she deemed herself a failure, she called herself names. She had become so cold that nothing looked good in front of her stressed eyes anymore. She broke down. She needed help, but she was too proud to loudly and boldly as for it, as she thought her good life would find it’s way of stitching all her wounds. She was turning loco. She was at the verge of insanity.
Even the strongest breaks down at some point. Don’t you hear the brighter the star the more the energy? As pointed earlier, it’s so evident that we all lack a thing we’d really love to have. So let people who are willing to help assist you. Let people in. Don’t struggle alone. It should be a life not a strife. Some of us may not offer a lot or even we may not offer what you exactly want. But then, a hand to hold is enough. A shoulder to lean on is enough. Someone to just wipe your tears is enough. Why stumble in such a struggle? Remember, it’s okay not to be okay. Accept help, open up. Share your experience and listen to people tell you how hard they are struggling with life. Such are the times we say, lean on me, when you’re not strong, I’ll be your friend. You’re not alone and never will be.
