REGRET

By Bukola
The suffocated pain rose to the surface
Causing contractions in my chest
Jolts in my  throat
And a burning sting in my eyes.
To let everything out
I’m here again
In the darkest part of my heart
Where I keep regretting my actions.
The turbulence of the past dissolved into a distant clamor
The memories haunting like a nightmare
Played in the music box
Of our endless conversations
With you promising me
Your undying love.
The empty hour without you
Is like a surreal dream
After you left without saying goodbye
How will I live without you
I’m a song still unsung
You were my Venus
But you left without me.
