Lost Sunsets

I used to love sunsets,
But only because the movies,
Made them look beautiful.
I never understood the fascination,
Or essence,
Of staring at the sun,
As it went down beyond the horizon,
But maybe it was just me.

So when I found a girl,
Who truly loves sunsets,
I fell in love with her,
And them even more,
Only I never realized,
I would never look at the sunsets,
The same way because of her.

In a moment all that we had was gone,
Though if you ask me,
I don’t know what we truly had.
Maybe we had fights,
Maybe we had mental issues,
Or memories,
But even as we watched the sunsets,
We never had solemn moments.
She ruined them all,
Along with my hopeful heart.
